St. Paul Lutheran Church
St Paul Lutheran Church;the little white church in the valley locally known as the Burton Church, continues in mission with Christ Lutheran Church of Lancaster. Quilt making, along with the making of hospice kits has been a strong source of stewardship locally and globally. Sunday school, special classes for Confirmation, and Lenten bible study centered on soup suppers and fellowship are the key opportunities for Christian Education. In addition, St. Paul has published a number of its own cookbooks and has recently reprinted its favorite edition Good Food from Good Cooks.

As the current pastor, I am among those from Wartburg Seminary, Dubuque, IA, that have served St. Paul Lutheran Church over the past 75 years, since its founding in 1938. On the one hand, we are an aging congregation, and on the other hand we are graced with the presence of younger families and children who attend Sunday school. Thus, we live with the hope of passing on our faith; grounded in God's Word and Sacraments in our worship, and brought to life through our outreach, mission and fellowship.

Our fall worship begins after Labor Day weekend: First and 3rd and 5th Saturdays - 5 PM, 2nd and 4th Sundays - 8:00 AM (except on the weekend of the Harvest Festival, Annual meeting Sunday - 3rd weekend of January, and Easter). Children's education is held during Saturday night worship.

Our Cat Fish Fry is Friday, July 17th, 4:30 PM - 8:00 PM at the Waterloo Town Hall.
Our Harvest Festival Auction is on Saturday, October 3rd, 6 PM, at the Waterloo Town Hall.
